Maritime Greenwich, a UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization) World Heritage Site in London, is a globally recognized historical touristic destination.1 However, increasing pressures from mass tourism pose significant threats to the area's cultural and environmental integrity, underscoring the urgent need for the implementation of sustainable tourism principles.2 Sustainable tourism aims to accommodate current tourism demands while preserving cultural and natural heritage; thereby safeguarding opportunities for future generations.3 This paper proposes strategic solutions to address the complex demands of environmentally responsible tourism. These solutions are designed not only for Maritime Greenwich; their application may be extended to major urban zones worldwide, i.e., contributing to climate change mitigation approaches.
