THE WHITE HOUSE. DOMESTIC PROPAGANDA offers a layered reflection on the idea of the house as a symbolic, political, and cultural device in continuous transformation. The White House, one of the most powerful symbols of Western democracy, is critically reinterpreted by twenty contributors as a spatial palinsesto. Within this framework, the interiors move beyond the traditional symbolism of architecture itself, where monumental scale and built permanence have long embodied the illusion of power’s eternity. Furnishings, decoration, and domestic routines instead emerge as rhetorical instruments, reflecting the mutability of a political system that often struggles to act upon reality. Within this contradiction, the house becomes a theater of propaganda, an operational space in which political narratives are staged, negotiated, and made visible.
