Historic masonry churches require verification methods that balance computational complexity with analytical clarity. The aim of this contribution is to analyse such complementarity by comparing the results from a detailed Finite Element Model (FEM) of the Church of San Bassiano with those obtained through a Heyman analysis of its main and secondary arches. Following the workflow prescribed by the Guidelines for the Evaluation and Reduction of Seismic Risk to Cultural Heritage, the investigation began with the survey of the building, the historical evolution and construction sequence analysis, supported by materials investigation. These data supported the development of a Historical Building Information Model (HBIM), required by the Procurement Code Legislative Decree 36/2023.

Abstract
Historic masonry churches require verification methods that balance computational complexity with analytical clarity. The aim of this contribution is to analyse such complementarity by comparing the results from a detailed Finite Element Model (FEM) of the Church of San Bassiano with those obtained through a Heyman analysis of its main and secondary arches. Following the workflow prescribed by the Guidelines for the Evaluation and Reduction of Seismic Risk to Cultural Heritage, the investigation began with the survey of the building, the historical evolution and construction sequence analysis, supported by materials investigation. These data supported the development of a Historical Building Information Model (HBIM), required by the Procurement Code Legislative Decree 36/2023.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
