The contribution investigates the densification of the existing city through the construction of new residential settlements above large-scale commercial structures. Drawing on ten design experiments developed across sites in Milan, the research uses architectural design as a knowledge-producing device to test the structural, distributive, morphological, and regulatory conditions of rooftop development. The study defines Super-Housing as a selective strategy for producing new inhabitable grounds and affordable housing, while contributing to the urban recomposition of fragmented and mono-functional fabrics.
