This research seeks to propose a framework for reclaiming domestic crafts within Design Futures. We argue that through the slow, intentional, and intimate act of embroidering, we can invite a different kind of inquiry, one centred on care as a futuresoriented practice, which offers a radical alternative to capitalistic and patriarchal narratives that seek to confine women to the household. By understanding ancestral practices like the corredo, through an annotated portfolio, we see how non-linear temporalities are challenged, and how futures can be "stitched forward". We highlight that the risks of cultural revival entangled with patriarchy, as seen in the "tradwife" movement, are best countered by celebrating the profound, often hidden, value of these traditions as a source of female lineage and intergenerational hope, thereby empowering women to embroider more equitable and inclusive futures.

Abstract
This research seeks to propose a framework for reclaiming domestic crafts within Design Futures. We argue that through the slow, intentional, and intimate act of embroidering, we can invite a different kind of inquiry, one centred on care as a futuresoriented practice, which offers a radical alternative to capitalistic and patriarchal narratives that seek to confine women to the household. By understanding ancestral practices like the corredo, through an annotated portfolio, we see how non-linear temporalities are challenged, and how futures can be "stitched forward". We highlight that the risks of cultural revival entangled with patriarchy, as seen in the "tradwife" movement, are best countered by celebrating the profound, often hidden, value of these traditions as a source of female lineage and intergenerational hope, thereby empowering women to embroider more equitable and inclusive futures.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
