The topic of migration and our cities skills to welcome and include is certainly one of the main political issues of this century, which involves several disciplines such as economics, social sciences, law, health and clearly disciplines concern the city, its construction and its transformation. Architectural and urban composition definitely plays a significant role in this phenomenon because it is responsible to shaping it. Treasure Island is the title of a project created during a design workshop at IUAV University of Venice in 2013. The theme con-cerned the redevelopment of a portion of the large, abandoned area of Marghera: the Island of Sludge. The approach was to build a new city, respectful of the character of the Lagoon, immersed in nature and open to all: students, young people, the elderly, families of varying sizes, migrants.
