This paper describes the analytical approach developed within the framework of the Genova Street Lab project, promoted by the Municipality of Genoa in collaboration with Politecnico di Milano-Dastu. The project aims to identify suitable public spaces to be redesigned through tactical urbanism. The selection of intervention areas rep resents a crucial phase in tactical urbanism processes; however, it is often guided by unclear criteria, lacking adequate analytical support. To address this critical issue, the research and analysis conducted as part of the Genova Street Lab project tested an innovative mixed-methods methodology, focused on the integrated assessment of the quality and accessibility of public spaces, combined with active community en gagement. The approach integrates the Inclusive accessibility by proximity index (Iapi) with a range of participatory tools, including questionnaires, crowdmapping, partic ipatory site visits, interviews, and mappings of local services and stakeholders. The combination of these tools enabled the construction of a comprehensive knowledge framework of the urban context, highlighting both objective problems and subjective perceptions, as well as latent potential of the analyzed spaces. The process led to the identification of two priority areas for the implementation of tactical interventions, selected based on rigorous analytical criteria and insights emerging from the local community. These findings served as the foundation for a co-design process involv ing residents, associations, school communities, and other local stakeholders, which resulted in the development of two design layouts currently being implemented. The experience contributed to the formulation of a structured, replicable, and scalable methodology that can be applied in other neighborhoods and urban contexts. The article aims to contribute to the broader debate on tactical urbanism as a tool to enhance accessibility and the quality of public space, emphasizing the critical role of integrated analytical approaches and community participation in establishing priori ties and guiding interventions

Abstract
The article aims to contribute to the broader debate on tactical urbanism as a tool to enhance accessibility and the quality of public space, emphasizing the critical role of integrated analytical approaches and community participation in establishing priori ties and guiding interventions| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
