The space of the city between proximity and distance. A dialogue. The dialogue aims to reflect on the theme of nearness and distance, as well as the relationship between proximity and remoteness, concerning urban space and its usage practices. In the background of this inquiry are the attempts by urban research to reimagine, from a design perspective, the issues of distancing and spaces of proximity in the aftermath of the Covid-19 pandemic. On the other hand, the conversation between the authors takes the question of nearness and distance as a crucial field for thinking about the metamorphoses of the urban, in the interweaving of practices, bodies, powers, and knowledge.
