This paper applies the activity-based view of sustainable business models (SBMs) to examine how fashion companies address sustainability. A systematic literature review, analysis of 67 sustainable start-ups, and 20 interviews identify a taxonomy of fashion SBMs, highlighting key activities and value mechanisms. Results show that most companies focus on sustainable sourcing, designing, and manufacturing, while some adopt sharing models such as rental and resale. Technologies, local networks, and third- party collaborations enable sustainable distribution, recycling, and transparency. The study offers an integrated view of sustainable practices and highlights activity combinations supporting Triple Bottom Line (TBL) goals.

Abstract
This paper applies the activity-based view of sustainable business models (SBMs) to examine how fashion companies address sustainability. A systematic literature review, analysis of 67 sustainable start-ups, and 20 interviews identify a taxonomy of fashion SBMs, highlighting key activities and value mechanisms. Results show that most companies focus on sustainable sourcing, designing, and manufacturing, while some adopt sharing models such as rental and resale. Technologies, local networks, and third- party collaborations enable sustainable distribution, recycling, and transparency. The study offers an integrated view of sustainable practices and highlights activity combinations supporting Triple Bottom Line (TBL) goals.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
