Abstract
The book offers a critical examination of sociological and philosophical perspectives that regard environmental catastrophe as inevitable, seeking to highlight the limitations and dangers of this outlook. Philosophies of the end of the world rarely give rise to ethical and political proposals, but are instead largely characterised by resignation and passivity. This paralysis of action is symbolised by the Medusa of the book’s title. Overcoming the rhetoric of transhumanism would require a rediscovery of the capacity for political action.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
