Aree industriali dismesse: fragilità delle strategie di intervento per il comparto sud della Ticosa di Como (1982-2024)

Strategies and projects for intervention in the built environment - once circumscribed within the debate on historic centers - have also become necessary for the rehabilitation and reuse of abandoned industrial areas inside major urban centers, or for the overall regeneration of city parts as opportunities to build new urban dyna- mics. The industrial plant Ticosa of Como, which for decades significantly characterised the city until its closure, becomes a city planning opportunity due to the municipal acquisition of the southern section. The current situation of the area, result of different choices that have taken place over the last forty years, represents the complexity of intervening on an important reality, which bears witness to a past existence. The aim of this paper is to analyse the different intervention strategies proposed by several municipal administrations in order to understand the weak- nesses that led to their total or partial non-realisation, where the local community could have been at the centre of public initiative strategies.
