The performance of two models of Half-Cut cell (HC) photovoltaic modules are tested in outdoor conditions. One model is bifacial and the other a conventional monofacial. Two modules per model were under test and always one bifacial module was back-covered to operate as a conventional one. The bifacial gain, compared to the bifacial model, is estimated of about 5−6% in the experimental campaign and also during selected clear-sky days. However, compared to the monofacial model, the bifacial gain is reduced to about 3% in the same circumstances. The difference in operating temperature was found to be crucial in this behavior

Abstract
The performance of two models of Half-Cut cell (HC) photovoltaic modules are tested in outdoor conditions. One model is bifacial and the other a conventional monofacial. Two modules per model were under test and always one bifacial module was back-covered to operate as a conventional one. The bifacial gain, compared to the bifacial model, is estimated of about 5−6% in the experimental campaign and also during selected clear-sky days. However, compared to the monofacial model, the bifacial gain is reduced to about 3% in the same circumstances. The difference in operating temperature was found to be crucial in this behaviorFile in questo prodotto:
