The identity of places and communities, especially in fragile areas, is tied to enduring symbols that strengthen the connection between inhabitants and their territory, embodying their resilience in facing daily challenges. A testimony of this is provided by Brugneto within the municipality of Ferriere (PC), where St. Pancrazio church stands as a landmark, playing a key role in preserving collective memory and shaping the mountainous landscape. After an overview of this ultraperipheral inner area’s socio-economic threads and the village territorial vulnerabilities, closely linked to hydrogeological instability and seismic risk, the article provides evidence on the built heritage of the landslide acting in the area with a focus on the church and its damage mechanisms, obtained by means of visual inspections and crack pattern interpretation. The numerous visible repair works carried out on the religious building by the local community highlight its cultural significance and a strong willingness for its preservation. In this context, the damage analysis has been central in guiding the implementation of mitigation measures, which were recently applied to the church and settlement to counteract slow-moving ground movements.

Abstract
In this context, the damage analysis has been central in guiding the implementation of mitigation measures, which were recently applied to the church and settlement to counteract slow-moving ground movements.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
