The contribution explores a series of design experiences that broaden the understanding of Fauciglietti Engineering’s trajectory, highlighting the variety of contexts, scales, and fields in which the centre has operated. Through these cases, several recurring features of its design practice emerge: the role of the prototype as a moment of verification and mediation between research and production; the importance of technical and organisational coordination; and the centrality of relationships with companies, collaborators, and the production system. These experiences make it possible to read more clearly the method developed by Fauciglietti Engineering as an operational structure capable of integrating rigour and adaptability. From this perspective, design appears as a cumulative process of knowledge, in which even incomplete or unrealised outcomes contribute to the construction of expertise, relationships, and a broader design vision.

Abstract
The contribution explores a series of design experiences that broaden the understanding of Fauciglietti Engineering’s trajectory, highlighting the variety of contexts, scales, and fields in which the centre has operated. Through these cases, several recurring features of its design practice emerge: the role of the prototype as a moment of verification and mediation between research and production; the importance of technical and organisational coordination; and the centrality of relationships with companies, collaborators, and the production system. These experiences make it possible to read more clearly the method developed by Fauciglietti Engineering as an operational structure capable of integrating rigour and adaptability. From this perspective, design appears as a cumulative process of knowledge, in which even incomplete or unrealised outcomes contribute to the construction of expertise, relationships, and a broader design vision.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
