Mnemosyne's Grid | Arxellence 3 Competition

The project “Mnemosyne’s Grid” aims to open insightful perspectives and relationships on a new porous continuity between water and land in Gyaros. Mnemosyne was the Greek goddess of memory, and the project aims to translate the ancient memory of the island into a new, sustainable future, reconnecting nature with people. In Gyaros, we recognize an important palimpsest of natural, historical, mythological, and ecological layers that must be rethought and transformed into a new, sustainable landscape for the future. The waterfront is characterized by concave and convex shapes that compress and dilate the land's topography into the sea.
