The study adopts the appropriateness and consequences logics to study how digitally-induced change unfolds in public museums as examples of anchor institutions. Through a single-case study of an Italian public museum, the results highlight digitally-induced change is shaped by the coexistence of these logics, with technological, organizational, and environmental tensions. The study contributes to public sector literature on digital transformation, focusing on an under-investigated organization typology and unpacking conflicting organizational dynamics emerging during digitally-induced change. It moves forward the debate on the influence of the appropriateness and consequences logics on public institutions' behaviour, reframing them as dynamic and generative forces.

Abstract
The study adopts the appropriateness and consequences logics to study how digitally-induced change unfolds in public museums as examples of anchor institutions. Through a single-case study of an Italian public museum, the results highlight digitally-induced change is shaped by the coexistence of these logics, with technological, organizational, and environmental tensions. The study contributes to public sector literature on digital transformation, focusing on an under-investigated organization typology and unpacking conflicting organizational dynamics emerging during digitally-induced change. It moves forward the debate on the influence of the appropriateness and consequences logics on public institutions' behaviour, reframing them as dynamic and generative forces.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
