To reach the goals of sustainability set by the European Commission, starting from 2035 all countries across Europe are required to produce only zero-emission vehicles, such as Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs). For this reason, the BEV market is expected to grow and the technology to be adopted by the larger population. The aim of this work is to provide a statistical analysis of the current state of adoption of BEVs in Italy, framing this information from a wider perspective and considering variables pertaining to social, economic and technological fields. The analysis has been conducted on a regional level, highlighting the similarities and contrasts between them. To pursue such an objective, Principal Component Analysis (PCA) and Clustering have been conducted to study Battery Electric Vehicles registration in 2022.

Abstract
To reach the goals of sustainability set by the European Commission, starting from 2035 all countries across Europe are required to produce only zero-emission vehicles, such as Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs). For this reason, the BEV market is expected to grow and the technology to be adopted by the larger population. The aim of this work is to provide a statistical analysis of the current state of adoption of BEVs in Italy, framing this information from a wider perspective and considering variables pertaining to social, economic and technological fields. The analysis has been conducted on a regional level, highlighting the similarities and contrasts between them. To pursue such an objective, Principal Component Analysis (PCA) and Clustering have been conducted to study Battery Electric Vehicles registration in 2022.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
