Sistema Prodotto-Servizio per l’arredo: un’analisi della letteratura per definire la relazione con la sostenibilità

The furniture industry represents an important sector of both the Italian and European economies. It is currently facing numerous environmental challenges and is therefore undergoing a transition towards greater sustainability. Product-Service Systems (PSS) represent one possible strategy for addressing this transition by generating sustainable value. This study aims to map the state of the art of the literature on PSS in the furniture sector in order to understand the different dimensions of the transition taking place within the industry. A literature review identified 23 relevant contributions. The findings reveal a number of areas that remain largely unexplored and require further investigation, including the distinctive characteristics of the Italian context, its culture and relationship with design, as well as the experiences of stakeholders such as users and companies. Finally, the study highlights the potential of existing literature to support the development and implementation of new PSS and to generate practical experiences from which further knowledge can be gained.

L’industria dell’arredo rappresenta un settore importante per l’economia italiana ed europea. Questa sta affrontando numerose sfide ambientali, e per questo sta attraversando un periodo di transizione verso la sostenibilità. I sistemi prodotto-servizio (PSS) sono una delle strategie possibili per affrontare tale cambiamento, generando valore sostenibile. Questo studio mira a mappare lo stato dell’arte delle risorse bibliografiche sul tema dei PSS nel settore arredo per comprendere le sfaccettature della transizione all’interno di questo settore. Tramite una revisione della letteratura è stato possibile individuare 23 contributi. Da questi emerge come esistano fonti ancora inesplorate e da analizzare, come ad esempio le peculiarità italiane, della sua cultura e della relazione con il design, o le esperienze di stakeholder come utenti ed imprese. Infine, emerge la possibilità di sfruttare le risorse bibliografiche per implementare nuovi PSS, e generare esperienze da cui apprendere.
