We demonstrate C+L band recirculating transmission over 5166 km of 19-core randomly-coupled multicore fiber with standard cladding diameter. We achieve a total throughput of 568.8 Tb/s and report the highest capacity-distance product measured in any fiber of 2.93 Eb/s·km.

Abstract

We demonstrate C+L band recirculating transmission over 5166 km of 19-core randomly-coupled multicore fiber with standard cladding diameter. We achieve a total throughput of 568.8 Tb/s and report the highest capacity-distance product measured in any fiber of 2.93 Eb/s·km.
