We demonstrate a proof-of-principle MIMO-supported, 3-mode transmission in an ITU-T-G.654 compatible fiber using O-band signals below the 1530 nm cut-off wavelength, jointly with single-mode C-band signals to extend the capacity of these fibers through SDM.
