Il decreto sicurezza e le (mancate) politiche abitative tra radicalità e visibilità

The article analyzes the impact of the Italian "Decreto Sicurezza" (Law 80/2025) on housing policies, focusing on its punitive approach toward squatting and squatters and on the impact of accelerated eviction procedures that further strengthen property owners' rights but fail to address structural causes of housing insecurity. It also highlights critical issues in Italy’s housing system such the high proportion of empty dwellings, the decline of the public housing stock, and the cut of housing welfare measures in the country.

L’articolo analizza l’impatto del **“Decreto Sicurezza” italiano (Legge 80/2025)** sulle politiche abitative, concentrandosi sul suo approccio punitivo nei confronti delle occupazioni abusive e degli occupanti, nonché sull’impatto delle procedure accelerate di sfratto, che rafforzano ulteriormente i diritti dei proprietari ma non affrontano le cause strutturali dell’insicurezza abitativa. Evidenzia inoltre alcune criticità del sistema abitativo italiano, come l’elevata percentuale di abitazioni vuote, la riduzione del patrimonio di edilizia residenziale pubblica e il taglio delle misure di welfare abitativo nel Paese.
