THE FUTURE CITY In the design phase, the FUTURA Masterplan identifies key priority areas capable of providing a strategic vision for the city of the future, elevating them to new urban polarities and outlining a meta-design prefiguration. Time and connection emerge as two fundamental elements which, together with the previously mentioned factors, are formalized within a network of nodes and strategic frameworks designed to become the backbone of a polycentric city. These meta-design prefigurations, defined by FUTURA as “progetti d’area”, identify the initial intervention points for the reactivation of city spaces, fostering synergies and currently absent functions. Specifically, these include spaces dedicated to leisure culture, sports, public spaces, and gathering places of the public city. The frameworks, on the other hand, serve as the connective elements supporting the nodes, set to become the main arteries of the city. They define the structure, connections, and links between strategic urban areas and their public spaces, shaping the logical diagram of the urban fabric of the new city.
