In this paper we address the problem of the design of a balanced binary Error Correcting Code (ECC) to be used in conjunction with a detection method robust against channel offset, which takes advantage from the storage of balanced or partially balanced sequences, and we discuss its usefulness. We show that Self-Reference-Reading detection which is robust to random channel offset even with partially balanced sequences, does not need the adoption of balanced ECC.

Abstract

In this paper we address the problem of the design of a balanced binary Error Correcting Code (ECC) to be used in conjunction with a detection method robust against channel offset, which takes advantage from the storage of balanced or partially balanced sequences, and we discuss its usefulness. We show that Self-Reference-Reading detection which is robust to random channel offset even with partially balanced sequences, does not need the adoption of balanced ECC.
