For firms and supply chains, sustainability is a critical factor for long-term success. To explore how firms and supply chains can obtain a sustainable and sustained competitive advantage, this work proposes a framework explaining the relations between the practices firms’ management put in place and the firm and supply chain performance. The framework is developed based on literature findings and leverages ordinary and dynamic capabilities. The framework is consequently validated in three multi-echelon supply chains. The mechanisms unveiled in this novel framework can guide industrial decision-makers from introducing a sustainability practice to its impact on performance.

Abstract
For firms and supply chains, sustainability is a critical factor for long-term success. To explore how firms and supply chains can obtain a sustainable and sustained competitive advantage, this work proposes a framework explaining the relations between the practices firms’ management put in place and the firm and supply chain performance. The framework is developed based on literature findings and leverages ordinary and dynamic capabilities. The framework is consequently validated in three multi-echelon supply chains. The mechanisms unveiled in this novel framework can guide industrial decision-makers from introducing a sustainability practice to its impact on performance.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
