There are various ways of living together with others, as reflected in the range of terms prefixed by “co-”: collaborative housing, shared housing, cohousing, co-living, and organised co-living. This contribution focuses on the latter, characterised by several people living “under the same roof and behind the same door” (Costa, 2015), within a single residential unit managed by a third-party organisation rather than through self-organisation by the residents themselves. The closest French term is colocation organisée, although habitat partagé is also used in this context: people who are not related to one another share domestic spaces and everyday life within housing projects managed by third parties, such as associations, cooperatives, and, in some cases, public authorities. These arrangements provide a response that is not only housing-related but also aimed at people who, for a wide variety of reasons, require support in accessing or maintaining housing and, often, in other areas of their lives. Organised co-living arrangements are therefore frequently employed as a key component of social and welfare policies targeting individuals and families who are vulnerable or have become vulnerable as a result of different events and processes.

Abstract
Organised co-living arrangements are therefore frequently employed as a key component of social and welfare policies targeting individuals and families who are vulnerable or have become vulnerable as a result of different events and processes.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
