The present invention is related to actuators immersed in a passive matrix, said matrix having the geometry of the ventricle resembling a truncated ellipsoid, said matrix being made of an elastomeric material, said actuators characterised in that they are following closed curves on a set of nested toroidal surfaces inside the elastomeric matrix, forming a collection of (p,q)- torus knots.

Abstract
