System (100) and method thereof for morpho-functional assessment of the thoracic vascular district, said system (100) comprising an arithmetic device configured to execute: processing of importing (1) volumetric radiological images (2) of the vascular district at a time instant of interest; segmenting of the images (2) into volumes of interest (4, 5), representing a heart valve and a section of a blood vessel; processing of a reconstruction of at least one central line (6, 6', 6", 106, 106') for each volume of interest (4, 5); processing of identifying a base section (8, 11) and a proximal section (7, 7'), the base section (8, 11) being a valve section of said at least one volume of interest (4, 5) and the proximal section (7, 7') being a section having a distance from the base section (8, 11) of less than or equal to 40 mm; calculating a first vector (10, 10') and a second vector (12, 12') tangent to the at least one central line (6, 106) and intersecting the base section (8, 11) and the proximal section (7, 7'), respectively; and calculating a proximal angle (α, α'), the proximal angle (α, α') being between the first (10, 10') and second vector (12, 12').
