Design Convivio: polytechnic dialogues, between meta-design and research

In 2021, when we started to think about how to celebrate the year an- niversary in 2023 of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Graduate Programme in Design (originally still called the Graduate Programme in Industrial Design), it was immediately apparent that this appointment would be necessary to carry out careful historiographic research and a great deal of archive work to retrace this journey. Re- flecting on this first phase of historical reconstruction of the first 30 years of the School, it soon became apparent that it was not sufficient to limit this review to the specific period since the 30 years since the official establishment of the Degree Course in 1993, but that it was also necessary to reconstruct the debate and all the groundwork that had led to this milestone over the years. Indeed, some of the seminar and experimentation steps that had constituted the necessary prelude to the creation of this Degree Course a few years earlier were already known.
