Currently, protection and conservation of cultural heritage and tourism in policies for strengthening not only the Italian but also the international economy are very often brought together both by scholars and in the administrative processes of national and local governments. The reasons for this combination are complex but easily understandable (if not justifiable!) and are closely linked to the cost of caring for cultural heritage as well as the need not to waste potential drivers of social and, also, economic growth. In order not to transform these policies into mere exploitation, cultural heritage must be the object of a widespread and shared understanding not only of its importance, as such, but of the ways in which to take care of it. The relationship between economy, which could imply "exploitation", and protection which, instead, seems to refer to a presumed arid conservation, is not easy to define in general terms, but must be seen case by case, adapting the dynamics of the two instances in the right relationships that take into account all the needs of the stakeholders involved. Cervia and Milano Marittima, in this sense, represent, seen as a whole, an exemplary case, where nature, architectural heritage, social, economic and, why not, political needs converge and must converge in a vision of sustainability in the exploitation and protection of resources.

Abstract
Cervia and Milano Marittima, in this sense, represent, seen as a whole, an exemplary case, where nature, architectural heritage, social, economic and, why not, political needs converge and must converge in a vision of sustainability in the exploitation and protection of resources.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
