Sustainability, an imperative for architecture. Global environmental challenges call us to urgent action. The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) show us the way, but achieving them requires a profound cultural change. Places of culture, such as museums, libraries and theaters, are the gatekeepers of this change. They are spaces where collective consciousness is formed, where knowledge is transmitted and new ideas are stimulated. By turning them into concrete examples of sustainability, they can influence public opinion and inspire other sectors. The text illustrates some case studies of sustainable library projects.
