The aim of the project is to provide a new PERSPECTIVE in the field of heritage and conservation science of plastic-based art and design objects by an analytical multimodal noninvasive (NI) approach for the in situ study of plastic materials 1. By studying the chemical and mechanical properties of synthetic polymers, the research addresses degradation challenges and optimizes approaches to monitor conservation treatments, including consolidation and cleaning. This methodology ensures real-time monitoring of interventions and fosters the development of preventive conservation strategies, combining innovative tools with established analytical methods to preserve plastic cultural heritage.

Abstract
The aim of the project is to provide a new PERSPECTIVE in the field of heritage and conservation science of plastic-based art and design objects by an analytical multimodal noninvasive (NI) approach for the in situ study of plastic materials 1. By studying the chemical and mechanical properties of synthetic polymers, the research addresses degradation challenges and optimizes approaches to monitor conservation treatments, including consolidation and cleaning. This methodology ensures real-time monitoring of interventions and fosters the development of preventive conservation strategies, combining innovative tools with established analytical methods to preserve plastic cultural heritage.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
