L'interfaccia scomparsa. Ovvero, l'infopoesia come visualizzazione divergente

We propose the role of the interface in the form of a data visualization, which we call Infopoetry and which was tested at the School of Design of the Politecnico di Milano. It is based on the same methodological process as the infographic, the aim of which is to make people not only see but, above all, feel the content expressed by the data. The metaphor is the semiotic mediation that translates the data into a visual artefact. This means that in infopoetry, the interface as an expressive and pragmatic means is no longer visible or explicitly identi able. As a translation of data, infopoetry does indeed provide for the existence of an interface, but this is then deleted, so to speak, in the  nal realization. Consequently, infopoetry is not only a translation but also a transgression; it goes beyond the tasks that visualization would entail. Infopoetry is in fact a deviation from denoted/connoted content towards provoked/evoked content. It invites the user to a form of mental rather than physical interaction. In doing so, the mediation of the metaphor shifts the experience towards emotional experiences that provide traces of the author’s subjectivity on the one hand and, stimulate the imaginative capacities of the user’s individuality on the other.
