In recent years, the mobility sector has experienced many radical innovations, including the widespread adoption of hybrid and fully electric road vehicles. Notably, the possibility of fitting multiple types of energy storage devices in road vehicles has garnered significant interest from researchers, industrial partners, and governments. This paper proposes an innovative energy management strategy for a hybrid battery-supercapacitor fully electric race car, designed for the IEEE Vehicular Technology Society Motor Vehicle Challenge 2024. The proposed solution focuses on optimizing the management of the vehicle energy storage systems to minimize the losses of the power converters and the electric motor.

Abstract
In recent years, the mobility sector has experienced many radical innovations, including the widespread adoption of hybrid and fully electric road vehicles. Notably, the possibility of fitting multiple types of energy storage devices in road vehicles has garnered significant interest from researchers, industrial partners, and governments. This paper proposes an innovative energy management strategy for a hybrid battery-supercapacitor fully electric race car, designed for the IEEE Vehicular Technology Society Motor Vehicle Challenge 2024. The proposed solution focuses on optimizing the management of the vehicle energy storage systems to minimize the losses of the power converters and the electric motor.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
