Abstract
“Castellaro Trentino”, a town in Mantua province, was subject to bishops of Trento until 1798. For many centuries, the local governor and the notary chancellor lived in the medieval castle. In 1773 the construction of a new government seat started: the building housed the prisons, the gendarmerie corps, the public schools, the municipal offices and a coffee house. Archive documents reveal the activities of two architects, the famous Girolamo Dal Pozzo and the unknown Antonio Chinaglia, and of many engineers until the end of XIX Century, when the palace became the town hall of Castel d’Ario.File in questo prodotto:
