This paper combines the improved Tellinen model with the transient model of classical loss and excess loss to propose a calculation method for the core loss under DC bias and harmonic. Based on the magnetic property's measurement of oriented silicon steel material B30P100, the excess loss parameters were obtained, and the loss value was calculated when a second harmonic was present under DC bias condition. The reliability was substantiated through comparisons of the results with measured loss data. This methodological refinement not only advances the understanding of core loss in transformers but also offers a validated tool for predicting and managing loss conditions under different operating scenarios.

Abstract

This paper combines the improved Tellinen model with the transient model of classical loss and excess loss to propose a calculation method for the core loss under DC bias and harmonic. Based on the magnetic property's measurement of oriented silicon steel material B30P100, the excess loss parameters were obtained, and the loss value was calculated when a second harmonic was present under DC bias condition. The reliability was substantiated through comparisons of the results with measured loss data. This methodological refinement not only advances the understanding of core loss in transformers but also offers a validated tool for predicting and managing loss conditions under different operating scenarios.
