In these two articles, the topics of artificial intelligence in relation to the lighting sector are introduced. A distinction is made between the well-known AI and the new generative AI, which can be used respectively for the management and design of lighting. The discussion is based on the analysis of the state of the art in research and applications in this sector. In the second article, some ethical considerations will be proposed, starting from the recent official publication of the EU AI Act and the enhancement of the professionalism of the Lighting Designer.

Abstract
