The project of the expansion of Acerbis International factory in the first half of the Seventies witnesses the relationship between architecture, design and the corporate world that established the peculiarity of the Italian design in the combination of technical knowledge and aesthetic values. The association between Lodovico Acerbis, the man who transformed the company from a carpentry workshop at the end of the Nineteenth century to an industry specialised in furnishing products, and the Milanese studio of Jonathan De Pas, Donato D'Urbino and Paolo Lomazzi began in the Sixties and continued for a long time. It included the commissioning of various projects, first and foremost the design of the famous Addition System (1968). The request for the company's extension (1973-1975, Seriate, Bergamo) came at the full maturation of a path and relationship that had begun many years earlier and was part of a constructively ‘flourishing’ period for the Milanese studio. The elements that characterise this project include the use of color and the selection of materials, the attention to the site and the pre-existing building, the design of the vegetation and the relationship with nature.

Abstract
The elements that characterise this project include the use of color and the selection of materials, the attention to the site and the pre-existing building, the design of the vegetation and the relationship with nature.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
