The 3-D analytical model (AM) is proposed for analyzing the electromagnetic performance of ironless axial-flux permanent-magnet motor (IAFPMM) to account for armature reaction. The equivalent magnet is used to replace the coil current and produce the air-gap field. Hence, the influence of armature reaction will be analytically described and investigated to build up the relationship between the motor performance and motor geometry. The accuracy and efficiency using the proposed model are demonstrated by 3D finite-element method (FEM) under on-load condition.

Abstract
