The circular economy concept increasingly takes on systemic connotations in conserving territorial capital from a heritage perspective. The aim of this paper is to demonstrate, using a case study, how circular economy, landscape heritage conservation, and sustainable development of marginal rural areas can be related within the framework of public policies for the integrated management of rural bio-cultural heritage. Chile represents a case of interest on the international scene. Today, projects are underway to rediscover historical rural economies from a circular perspective through an integrated approach based on heritage and community. In particular, the critical analysis of the GIAHS Chiloé and Red de SIPAN projects emphasizes that the regeneration of endogenous decision-making processes and intangible territorial capital (ancestral know-how) is fundamental for the dynamic conservation of landscape heritage. The construction of cross-sectoral synergies and multi-actor networks is also substantial for the economic sustainability of historical rural systems in the contemporary society.

Abstract
The construction of cross-sectoral synergies and multi-actor networks is also substantial for the economic sustainability of historical rural systems in the contemporary society.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
