The so-called heritage education is one of the curricular activities that corroborate the training plan of schools of various types and levels. Its introduction is relatively recent, nevertheless it is difficult to propose a critical synthesis of the many experiences that have been made, which are different from each other in terms of approach, method, and tools. The specialized literature that examined the various activities carried out, paid more attention to the pedagogical aspects, while often emphasizing a lack of metrics for measuring the results that need to be collected over time, to correct or enhance their action. Within the team that studied and imple-mented the ScAR Project, my competence is linked to the topic of the protection and preservation of Cultural Heritage. For this reason and because of the specificity of the discipline, I will try to propose some reflections on the relationship between education and Cultural Heritage, starting, however, from the opposite perspective to the more usual one, which favors the examination of the civic training of young citi-zens through Cultural Heritage. I will make these considerations having as a starting point an experience lasted three years with about 450 students attending the first year of the Faculty of Architecture of the Politecnico of Milan.
