Globalization has transformed the industry in our time and brought new realities to the job market. These paradigm shifts have fundamentally changed our higher education landscape. Over the past two decades, internationalization has become a priority for universities. Confronting the internationalization of higher education, how to offer appropriate internationalized curricula has become a crucial challenge. There have been few inquiries into the relationship between the internationalization of the curriculum and the academic disciplines, and the evidence regarding the discipline of design needs to be revised. In this paper, the author delineates a particular international design program operationalized according to the internationalized curriculum development framework to demonstrate the connection between the idea of implementation and the real world of performance. The author hopes that the reflection on the practice context can offer a solid basis for future work and provoke discussions about the relationship between the dominant and emerging paradigms within the design discipline.
