Given the lack of sustainability as to the management of Castel Masegra, the Municipality of Sondrio decided to perform an actualized current-use check and subsequently compare the outcomes thereof with each additional, available option within the framework of an updated vision of territorial relations and opportunities. A feasibility study was thus conceived to assess the compatibility and possible synergies between the functions already ascertained on the one hand, and further possible uses as to other sections of the castle, on the other. The study led to the definition of three functional-mix hypotheses regarding the sections of the building surrounding the inner courtyard, which are currently under condition of neglect. The methodology at issue enabled evaluations both of a technical and economic nature, which, by the way, proved well-suited to the decisions to be made in the first place. Indeed, the three hypotheses were mutually compared by way of a thorough assessment resting on functional, socio-cultural, environmental, and economic criteria. Such multi-criteria decision-making-support technique, which goes by the name of “Analytic Hierarchy Process – AHP” was implemented through focus groups and interviews, which made possible not only the definition of a hierarchy of the three hypotheses of use as to all the preferences elicited by the relevant stakeholders in terms of both quantitative and qualitative criteria, but also to understand their reasons-to-be and collect additional suggestions. Therefore, the planning, design, and management stages ought to encompass the drafting of a technical and economic document aimed at ascertaining the above enterprise’s managerial sustainability and likely liaisons with the territorial capital at issue.

Abstract
Therefore, the planning, design, and management stages ought to encompass the drafting of a technical and economic document aimed at ascertaining the above enterprise’s managerial sustainability and likely liaisons with the territorial capital at issue.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
