La Committenza difficile. Enti pubblici e l’arte contemporanea,1980. Crispolti, Fagone, Zingarelli. Impegno e riflessioni sulla contemporaneità

La committenza difficile took place during Bari’s Arte-Fiera on March 26-27 1980. It was an innovative meeting that mixed audience and speakers from interdisciplinary background. Museums and universities, independent scholars and critics, Ministry of Culture, Regional and local offices, artists, dealers, as well as politicians and trade unionists were invited by Enrico Crispolti, Vittorio Fagone and Luciana Zingaretti to discuss the situation of contemporary art in Italy through administrative, legislative and political investigation. One of the main subjects of discussion was the urgency to identify central cultural policies on the basis of renewed artistic practices. The paper analyzes this completely forgotten event because its context presents various similarities with today and with the focus and goals of this book "Arte e spazio pubblico".
