Mountain ecosystems represent a precious and fragile resource for the protection and enhancement of biodiversity, the fight against climate change, the construction of an integrated system of ecological networks. From this awareness, the present contribution is divided into three parts: the first focuses on the dimension of hydrogeological risk within the most general territorial fragilities that affect our country, taking as a reference an integrated vision of water, territories, communities; the second part examines how industrial decommissioning, especially in Alpine region, can contribute to the mitigation of local hydrogeological risks as well as to the regeneration of contexts and landscapes; the third summarizes the ways in which a recent European research has addressed the issue of production decommissioning in the transnational Alps, with specific reference to integrated risk management and the possibilities of re-industrialization aimed at reconnecting the site to its territorial context.

Abstract
Mountain ecosystems represent a precious and fragile resource for the protection and enhancement of biodiversity, the fight against climate change, the construction of an integrated system of ecological networks. From this awareness, the present contribution is divided into three parts: the first focuses on the dimension of hydrogeological risk within the most general territorial fragilities that affect our country, taking as a reference an integrated vision of water, territories, communities; the second part examines how industrial decommissioning, especially in Alpine region, can contribute to the mitigation of local hydrogeological risks as well as to the regeneration of contexts and landscapes; the third summarizes the ways in which a recent European research has addressed the issue of production decommissioning in the transnational Alps, with specific reference to integrated risk management and the possibilities of re-industrialization aimed at reconnecting the site to its territorial context.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
