Cultural organizations that promote exhibitions have experienced a great struggle during the Pandemic, to survive in the face of shortages of resources and audiences. At the same time, the need to strengthen the role of those institutions in promoting the ecological transition, both through their exhibitions’ contents and production processes, has become ever stronger. The theme of the sustainability of temporary exhibitions, both in environmental and economic terms, is today the focus of a number of initiatives, still not fully structured. This essay explores some promising trajectories, investigating significant experiences that are innovating the practices and processes of exhibit design, embracing a circular economy perspective.

Abstract
Cultural organizations that promote exhibitions have experienced a great struggle during the Pandemic, to survive in the face of shortages of resources and audiences. At the same time, the need to strengthen the role of those institutions in promoting the ecological transition, both through their exhibitions’ contents and production processes, has become ever stronger. The theme of the sustainability of temporary exhibitions, both in environmental and economic terms, is today the focus of a number of initiatives, still not fully structured. This essay explores some promising trajectories, investigating significant experiences that are innovating the practices and processes of exhibit design, embracing a circular economy perspective.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
