Restauro e chimica: un significativo rapporto inter e intradisciplinare nell’evoluzione storica della cultura della conservazione

The theme of the conference touches on one of the aspects of the culture of restoration, which has accompanied the history of the discipline; initially, in the nineteenth century, collaterally to the problems of the restoration intervention (especially in the case of paintings), while subsequently, in the seventies of the twentieth century, above all about the field of architectural restoration, with the advancement of the restoration culture towards the preservation project. The scientific contribution of the sciences, especially chemistry, was not only for the preliminary scientific investigation of the project but also provided ideas for theoretical reflection methodology of the architectural restoration on the issues of compatibility, reversibility and minimum intervention.
