This paper proposes the control design of a single-phase bi-directional converter driven by a digital proportional-resonant controller. Such device can be installed in domestic DC recharging stations, allowing vehicle-to-home and vehicle-to-grid services. This work aims at providing guidelines for studying and implementing such control in simulation, other than in practice. Indeed, experimental results are reported to support the design activity. Moreover, a compact solution that foresees the integration of the gate board on the power module is presented as well. This work is a first step towards the development of both domestic single-phase and fast and ultra-fast three-phase modular recharging stations.
