IInfluenced stylistically by the French École de Beaux-Arts, the building that houses the Mercado Do Bolhão has undergone a renovation aimed at enhancing its original matrix while updating its functionality. The value of heritage is attributed to two inseparable cultural dimensions: the material one of Beaux-Arts architecture and the immaterial one of its traditional market function.
Influenzato stilisticamente Dall’école de Beaux-Arts francese, l’edificio che ospita il Mercado Do Bolhão è stato sottoposto a un intervento di recupero teso a valorizzare la sua matrice originale mentre ne aggiorna la funzionalità. Il valore del patrimonio è attribuito a due dimensioni culturali inseparabili: quella materiale dell’architettura Beaux-Arts e quello immateriale della sua funzione di mercato tradizionale.
