The research focuses on exploring the role of Representation in enhancing and managing Architecture, the environment, or infrastructure through virtual tools like Oculus and Holographic Table. It aims to enable the representation of Architecture in the virtual domain by importing BIM objects into Unity using the "Unity Reflect" plugin. Unity serves as the platform for visualizing these models in both VR and Holograms, with the possibility of customizing the model visualization and supporting additional functionalities. While traditional representation methods excel in providing immediate visualization of plans, sections, and special content, VR often falls short in this regard. The research seeks to bridge this gap by enabling interactive visualization of 3D mesh models in both VR and Holographic experiences. Two new features, "Section" and "Heatmaps," will be added to the Unity Reflect plugin. "Section" allows for the creation of a movable and rotatable plane to separate visible and invisible parts of the model, while "Heatmaps" enable the visualization of the model based on different parameters, with each 3D object colored according to its specified physical parameter value. The research will also implement two new interfaces for Unity Reflect, one for mixed reality with the Holographic Table and one for virtual reality with Oculus, offering user experiences in the field of Architecture Representation. Additionally, the study explores the potential of AI-driven approaches to integrate AI into Reflect for automatic checks on 3D models in Unity, with the results viewable in immersive mixed and virtual reality environments, especially with the "Heatmap" functionality.
