A gap coupled Antenna array for operation in C-band is presented. The array is based on the gap-coupling of two similar patches, shaped with a multilobate contour. The multilobate patch design is suitable for generating Circularly Polarized far-fields, exploiting the mechanism of modal degeneration. At the same time, the multilobate design is suitable for the gap-coupling of complementary shaped patches. The combination of these two feature permits to design affective antennas characterized by circular polarization and broadband of operation. The design with best gain it exhibits a maximum left hand gain of 7.0 dB, a cross polarization discrimination exceeding 25 dB at the frequency of 5.8 GHz. The design with best dual band of operation exhibits 6.2 dB and 3.8 dB at 5.8 GHz and 6.4 GHz, respectively.
